Right, a driver's just submitted their medical assessment – here's the drill on what happens next. The outcome depends on the assessment's tier and, of course, their answers.
- Tier B – All "No" Answers: If the driver has answered "no" to everything, the system automatically stamps them as fit. Nothing for you to do here, nothing to it.
- Tier B – Any "Yes" Answer: If even one "yes" pops up, it's flagged for review. Our medical reviewers get an email notification and can see it waiting for them in the Awaiting review panel on your Manager Dashboard.
What Happens with Tier C Assessments
* Tier C: These assessments always require a reviewer to triage them, regardless of the answers provided. 1. The reviewer opens the assessment to read through all the raw answers. 2. They then select an outcome: fit, fit with adjustments, needs review, or not fit. 3. Any flagged categories are tagged. 4. Finally, the reviewer adds a short note.
Impact on the Driver's Risk Dashboard
The chosen outcome directly impacts the driver's risk dashboard:
- fit: The driver's risk status remains unchanged; they're good to go.
- fit with adjustments: This will bump the driver's status to Warning.
- needs review: This also pushes them to Warning until that further review is complete.
- not fit: Heads up — this one immediately forces a Critical status for the driver, overriding any other compliance signals.
Quick one — if a driver has a "Section 88 revoked" status flag (which you'd set manually on their D4 record), that also forces a Critical status. Why? Because Section 88 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 doesn't offer protection if their Group 2 entitlement was pulled due to medical reasons.
Keeping on top of these medical assessments is crucial, and with DDIR handling the heavy lifting, staying compliant is a breeze.
